The Brighton Festival Fringe does it again

Brighton Festival Fringe is one of the largest and fastest-growing open access arts festival in the world and in fact the largest in England. It’s aim is to entertain by showcasing a wide cross section of art forms with no artistic judgment or selection criteria imposed on participants. The Brighton Fringe year on year enables the development of both new and established work to attract fresh audiences and is just an amazing annual 3 week event that is not to be missed.
Here are the facts and figures of the Brighton Festival Fringe 2010:
3 weeks
675 events
Over 3000 performances
180 venues
145 free events
147 events at £5 or less
40,000 visitors at Fringe City in New Road
Over 100,000 tickets sold
180,000 total attendances
38% of audiences saw 3 – 5 shows this May
52% had friends and family down to Brighton to see Fringe events
The third largest fringe festival in the world!
We are lucky enough to have been involved in the design of the programme for the past 6 years. We absolutely love working with the team who are so passionate about the continued growth of the event. After we’ve been working on the programme fitting in all of the events, locations, venues and the advertising it’s nice to take a step back and then enjoy the performances when it comes round in May. My favourite event this year had to be The Breakfast Club – in the Jubilee Library – another positive review is here over on fringereview.co.uk
